We are beyond excited to share that our very own Skye Vanderhoek recently had the incredible opportunity to dance at the world-renowned Royal Opera House in London! This once-in-a-lifetime experience was part of a special production celebrating the life and legacy of the legendary Italian ballerina, Mara Galeazzi.

Mara Galeazzi was an internationally acclaimed ballerina and Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet, one of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world. Throughout her career, she became one of the most respected and admired dancers in the world, and Skye is deeply honoured to be a part of a production that honours her career.

While in London, Skye had the privilege of receiving training from Mara herself, alongside her dance coach, Tim Podesta – former member of the Australian Ballet and a highly respected coach in the dance world. Skye’s training under these incredible mentors was an unforgettable experience, as she gained invaluable insight into the artistry and technique that shaped Mara's remarkable career.

Skye will continue to be a part of the production 'Echoes in 8', which is being produced by renowned theatre and film director Peter J Adams and choreographed by Tim Podesta. This special performance will beautifully capture Mara Galeazzi’s legacy and celebrate her lasting impact on the world of ballet. The production will debut its tour in Australia, before moving to Europe, and will eventually be produced as a film.

We are so proud of Skye for living her dreams, training tirelessly to improve her craft and skillset, and representing our school and community on such an esteemed global stage. We look forward to hearing more about Skye’s journey as she continues to shine in the world of dance.
