Years 5 - 6
In the final years of Primary School, we foster an inclusive learning environment which promotes and encourages the wellbeing and achievement of all students within a supportive Christian community.
As children at this stage undergo a period of transition, we understand their need for both independence and guidance. They yearn to "branch out" and explore their capabilities, while still requiring structure, role modelling, and clear expectations to support their growth over time.
Consolidation of the foundational skills of literacy and numeracy is a priority and complemented by the development of competencies aimed at students becoming passionate and inquisitive in their learning. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and engage students, allowing them to explore a wide range of subjects and develop a deep understanding of core concepts. Through dynamic teaching methods and hands-on activities, we aim to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. The classes are supported by excellent facilities, together with specialist staff in Music, Visual Arts, STEM, RAVE and Physical Activity, plus a Learning Support team. Children are encouraged to explore and expand the limits of their abilities in all areas.
Year 6 students also have the opportunity to take on leadership roles as School, Chapel, and Student Representative Council (SRC) Leaders, as well as House Captains. This empowers them to demonstrate responsibility and initiative while fostering a sense of ownership in their school community. We firmly believe in providing a platform for our young learners to develop their leadership skills and make a positive impact.
To complement our academic program, we also provide a rich and diverse co-curricular program. This encompasses a wide array of activities and opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. From sports and performing arts to clubs and community service initiatives, our students have the chance to discover their passions, develop new skills, and cultivate well-rounded personalities.
